The prestigious U.S.News & World Report’s guide to “America’s Best Hospitals” has ranked Hillcrest Hospital in two specialties. Digestive Health and Respiratory Therapy both ranked as one of the best in their respective specialties in the United States.
More than 4,800 hospitals were assessed for their reputation, mortality, patient safety and care-related factors such as nursing and patient services. Only 174 scored high enough to be ranked in even one category. Of those, Hillcrest ranked number 41 in both digestive diseases and respiratory disorders.
“This is a great honor for Hillcrest Hospital and is indicative of the excellence, commitment and hard work of our physicians, nurses and employees,” says Jeff Leimgruber, FACHE, President of Hillcrest Hospital. “I would like to publicly and proudly thank all the members of the Digestive Health Center and Respiratory Services for their skill and dedication in providing the highest quality care to our patients and earning Hillcrest Hospital this prestigious national recognition. I would like to recognize and thank all those individuals who work alongside and support our Digestive Health and Respiratory services and programs.”
“America’s Best Hospitals” also ranked Cleveland Clinic, which was among the top four hospitals in the country and number one in America for heart care for the 15th year in a row. Twelve Cleveland Clinic programs were listed among the Top 10 in the United States, including seven in the Top 5 and three – digestive disorders, urology, and rheumatology – among the Top 2.
In addition, Fairview Hospital received the ranking of number 31 of the Best Respiratory Disorders Hospitals.
“Being ranked among the top hospitals in our country is an outstanding distinction that should make us all feel extremely proud,” Leimgruber says. “My sincere congratulations to all the talented professionals who have made it possible.”
“Let us all applaud Cleveland Clinic and Fairview Hospital as well. Each of our hospitals is in excellent company. ”
